Getting your documents
digitized will save you a lot of room
and give you access to them fast from all your
computers.
You can
chose in what format you want your documents
delivered to you.
They
can
be
supplied
in
the Acrobat .pdf format, or in jgp, or tif (same as
tiff). We can
also OCR (Optical Character Recognition) them for
you, however there WILL BE errors in the thereby
generated text version (as the text will NOT be
manually corrected).
Documents
that have creases in them take extra handling and
text close to the creases will be somewhat
distorted. We'll be happy to supply you with
samples using your documents that have creases, so
you may decide whether the quality will be
acceptable to you.
Your documents will have
to be delivered to us and return shipping can be
arranged by you or will be charged to you.
We require a setup charge
of $10.00 and $5.00 for every DVD needed to store
your data. Most quantities (up to 2,500
copies; unless supplied as tif files which take more
storage space) will fit on one DVD disc.
Obtaining OCR'd versions, in addition, will take up
extra space which will reduce the amount of data
fitting on each DVD.
We charge US$ 0.15 per
sheet (2 pages if rear is printed as well), but have
a special at present at 33.33% (1/3rd) off.
The documents need to be
single sheets with all staples removed (we can do
that for you for an extra charge, which depends on
whether just a few are stapled or most), and should
be grouped in like information bunches for sequence
logical retrieval from the digitized material
(files).
Book bound documents will
first have to be removed from their bindings as the
scanner is a feed through unit.
All documents should be
aligned with all tops at the same end, and with all
front pages pointing in the same direction. If
that is not the case, you will still get them
copied, but they will be in the orientation you
supplied them in (for example, back first then
front, or top at the bottom).
You may determine how you
want the documents combined, and in what size files
(documents per pdf files, for example). In jpg
and tif formats you can get the documents one
document per file.
A document is considered
to be one piece of paper, with both sides being
scanned, but blank pages (usually the rear side)
being left out.
We'll be happy to discuss
your special needs and work with you to make this as
easy and pleasant an experience as possible.
